Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Notice

QOLAMUNAA, as a respected academic journal, emphasizes the importance of academic integrity and adherence to international standards, particularly regarding plagiarism. All authors are expected to exercise diligence and comply with international principles of publication ethics.

Definition of Plagiarism

  1. Specific Facts or Information
Any specific information, including names, dates, locations, numbers, or other detailed data obtained from another source, must be accompanied by appropriate citation. Exceptions apply only to general knowledge, i.e., information that can be found in five or more sources or is widely known (e.g., the fact that Indonesia is the most populous Muslim-majority country in the world).

  2. Ideas from Other Authors
Ideas or concepts developed by other authors must always be cited, even if the author further develops or interprets the idea. In such cases, the original source must be cited, and the author may add their own further development in a subsequent sentence.

  3. Words or Phrases from Other Authors
The use of four or more consecutive words from another source must include quotation marks and proper citation. Citation alone without quotation marks is insufficient and constitutes plagiarism.

Policy and Procedures

  • All manuscripts submitted will be checked using plagiarism detection software before publication.

  • Authors found to have committed plagiarism risk withdrawal of their accepted manuscript and may face additional sanctions, including a temporary ban on submitting manuscripts to QOLAMUNAA.

  • This policy aligns with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and international standards for academic publishing ethics.
